Music
At Alderman’s Green through using Junior Jam, we believe providing pupils with a rich and diverse music education is fundamental to helping to unlock their creative potential. Our music curriculum sets out to allow children a broad range of musical experiences within primary school, giving pupils the foundation to explore their talents
and passions.
Children are challenged to explore the work of significant artists, musicians and performance pieces linked to their curriculum learning, considering audience, purpose and mood.
Our music curriculum aims to inspire creativity, self-expression and encourage our children on their musical journey as well as giving them the opportunity to connect with others. As a school, we value music because it is a powerful and unique form of commnication that can change and impact the way children feel, think and act which is underpinned by our curriculum drivers of talk, feel, question and reflect.
Exposing children to music during early development helps them to learn the sounds and meanings of words. At Alderman’s Green, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop their musical potential and we aim to nurture and encourage musical development across their school years. We hope to instil a life-long love of music by exposing them to diverse musical experiences, exploring different genres and igniting a passion for music.
